Behind Mister Nata lies a man with a dream: José Cruz, born and raised in Portugal, now living in Amsterdam. With a great passion for gastronomy and a deep connection to the Portuguese heritage, José decided to bring a piece of his native country to the Netherlands. What started as a desire to share the flavors of home, grew into a mission to bring the classic among Portuguese pastries – the Pastel de Nata – to the Benelux.

With his knowledge of gastronomy and his passion for perfection, José decided it was time to change that. His goal? To let everyone in the Netherlands and Belgium enjoy one of the 7 culinary wonders of Portugal.
